More than 1,500 short films have entered this year's 19th edition of Animadeba.

The 19th edition of Animadeba has once again seen outstanding participation. This year, we received over 1,500 short films from more than 100 countries worldwide. Of these, only 40 works will be selected to compete in the official lineup at the festival in Deba this September. The selection committee highlighted the exceptional quality of the submitted works, as well as their artistic diversity in terms of genres and styles. Likewise, they emphasized the wide range of themes addressed, which makes it possible to curate a rich and varied program. Year after year, the high volume of submissions demonstrates that Animadeba is cementing its place as an international benchmark for animation, gaining ever-increasing resonance among creators worldwide. The 40 selected short films will be distributed across four sections: 10 in the Main Official Selection, 10 in the New Directors section, 10 in the Panorama section, and 10 in Animatxiki, this year's new children's showcase. The selection team is finalizing its decisions these days, and the titles of the selected films will be announced soon.
