After the pandemic, Unai Madariaga (voice and guitar) released his first solo work, and soon after the EZEZEZ project was launched, in collaboration with producer Eneko Ajangiz (guitar). Alvaro Olaetxea (Capsula) entered the drums and Mikel Irigoyen the bass, and in 2022 they published their first album: When I Think Something is Funny, I Smile. Mondosonorogave them 8/10 points because he highlighted his own personality.
They realesed their second album in 2023, Katuzaldia. Keeping the DIY attitude, recording, mixing, master's and editing were done on their own. This album was more aggressive and direct, combining post-punk, psychedelia in the '70s and grung in the '90s, with melodies and discourse in this era.
Now, in 2025, Kabakriba is the new album they have returned with and EZEZ has reached the moment when it further defines its sound. The record carries a darker, sharper sound that is immediately identified. There has been influence from bands like Parquet Courts, Viagra Boys or Idles, but EZEZ already has its own style: raw guitars, violent rhythms and an ironic, direct voice with the breath of the streets of Bilbao.
As said inRuta 66 - "It's a punk video game, spitting out the most beautiful underground art in Bilbao: iron, laughter and corrosion." And now also, more freedom, more maturity and more noise. EZEZEZ, always ready!
