Talk with Koldo Gutiérrez (Friday 6th) In this talk we will move away from the commercial path to show other artistic and visual styles used by independent titles with a vocation to enter through the eyes and stand out at first sight. Nowadays, the absence of technical muscle can be made up for with original artistic style, the work of talented illustrators influenced by current avant-garde trends. Koldo Gutiérrez (Bilbao, 1984) is a cultural journalist, collaborating in media such as El Correo and AnaitGames and founded the defunct magazine Cactus. He is also a professor of videogames at Euneiz and Mondragon Unibertsitatea. He gives talks in various educational centers about the capacity of this medium as an artistic and transformative tool, and organizes events in cultural institutions such as BilbaoArte, Azkuna Zentroa or 42 Urduliz.

Ibai Zabaleta Urrosolo, is a cultural manager and coordinator of Medialab laboratories at the CICC Tabakalera in Donostia-San Sebastián. Graduate in Humanities-Business and Master in digital communication projects, as coordinator he is responsible, among others, for the line of collaborative projects in art, science, technology and society. It combines personal and professional interests in various lines of work in the field of citizen laboratories, such as citizen innovation, open design, art+technology experimentation, the commons or data culture.
MICROBIAN.DIY AND VIDEO GAMES

Talk with Victor Garcia How would anyone dare to see the world through a microbe? "Microbian" is a casual game, an infinite runner, in which a microbe escapes from an organic and hostile world. Through a simple and original handling, "Microbian" maintains a balance between an artistic game, with original graphic and sound art, and an addictive platform game. Victor Garcia will tell us in first person his adventures in the creation, design and development of this game that was created together with Alberto Vazquez in a story that devirtualizes the idea of success in the video game industry.
BEGINNER'S COURSE IN BLENDER

Jorge Sarria Blender is a powerful free and open source software tool used to create 3D content, including modeling, sculpting, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, and video editing. It is widely used in the animation, video game, visual effects and graphic design industries. Blender offers a wide range of tools and functionality that allow users to take complex projects from conceptualization to final product, all within a single software environment. 1st day, Wednesday: Blender Interface: Introduction to the screen layout, menus and main windows. Modeling: Fundamentals of 3D modeling, creating basic shapes and manipulating objects. Animation: Basic animation principles, creating keyframes and simple movements. Basics: Familiarization with essential Blender terms and tools. 2nd day, Thursday: Grease Pencil: Using the Grease Pencil tool to create 2D drawings and animations within a 3D environment. Rigging: Introduction to rigging, creating and adjusting skeletons to animate characters and objects. 3rd day, Friday: Composition: Scene composition techniques, integration of 3D and 2D elements, and use of nodes. Assembly within Blender: Editing and final assembly of projects within Blender, export of animations and final renders.
MAKING AN FEATURE FILM

Isabel Herguera will share her experience in creating an independent feature film, detailing the process from the conception of the idea and the development of the script to the final production and distribution. He will explain how he integrated mixed techniques of animation and live filming to create a visually unique narrative, and how he took an industrial approach to optimize resources and coordinate teams, ensuring efficient production. Isabel will also address the importance of meticulous pre-production, managing challenges during filming, and careful post-production work, offering an inspiring and practical insight for those looking to enter the world of independent film.
PIXILATION WORKSHOP

In this workshop we will discover the principles of animation through Pixilation, a variant of stop-motion where the participants themselves will use their own body movements to create magical moments of interaction with the objects around them. They will become human puppets and photo by photo, they will create a small animation in which they will be the protagonists. Are you up for it?
ARCHITECTURE ANIMATION WORKSHOP (+12)

Laura Ibanez . Architectural animation explores geometric shapes and patterns, using repetition and symmetry to create captivating visual effects. This distinctive approach involves the repetition of elements and the creation of geometric structures, essential characteristics of this technique. Architectural animation uses real-time photographs that are converted into animation sequences. In the workshop we will use the digital camera of a mobile phone together with a free application to take the necessary images.
